About the event
Come learn the basics of weaving, using naturally dyed wool (made by Gail herself) and elements from nature, such as dried flowers and leaves, to create a one-of-kind tapestry for hanging in your favorite nook. Participants will learn how to warp a loom and employ various weaving techniques to make their own tapestry weaving.
No experience is necessary. All materials will be provided, including a selection of naturally dyed yarn made with madder, indigo, weld, logwood and more.
FEE: $55 / participant + $15 materials fee
This weaving session is four hours long to allow everyone sufficient time to complete a finished piece that is approximately 8 x 10". Breaks are encouraged anytime after the first hour of the session; participants are also welcome to leave before the end of the session if they complete their piece before the end of the session.

Gail Cunningham O’Donnell is a natural dyer, weaver, quilter and novice knitter. Originally from Philadelphia, she got her degree in Fibers and Book Arts at Oregon College of Art & Craft in Portland, Oregon. She spent a number of years working as a cut paper artist and showed in galleries both locally and internationally, but in recent years she has returned to her roots in fibers. When she isn’t working at Supplies for Creative Living, she is working on her line of naturally dyed wool yarn, which can be found locally at The Endless Skein.
