About the event
Join artist Cassandra Saulter, as we knit, stitch, patch and crochet new life into an old sweater. Â This 4 week individualized course takes us from initial deconstruction through finish work, with plenty of room and time for creative detours and personal exploration.Â
SESSION DURATION: October 4, 11, 18 and 24 from 12-2PMÂ
The two sessions of this class (Sunday 10/4 and 10/11) will be held online. Â Subsequent sessions (Sundays 10/18 and 10/24) will be individual consultations held outdoors, weather permitting or indoors in timed sessions with no more than 2 participants at a time to allow for sufficient social distancing.
Participants must have basic knowledge of sewing and knitting or crocheting. Â Participants will also need to have a old / holey / beloved sweater ready for deconstruction before the first session. It is highly recommended that all sweaters be 100% wool material. Â
Cassandra Saulter is an interdisciplinary artist and designer, with full careers in Art ( portraiture art from the waste stream ) , Film, The Stage ( scenery painting and makeup art ) and currently, Fashion ( circular fashion for circular economy ). Cassandra has studied at Kansas City Art Institute, Chicago Art Institute, Lester Polakov School of Theater Design and The Art Students League.
