About the event
Our most favorite series A Creative Practice has morphed yet again into the even more spacious and even more open Sunday Studio series, as we explore and invent new ways to play, dream and experiment with watercolors, ink, pencil, collage and more.
For most of us, the goal of artmaking is not to end up on the walls of a museum, but to insert a pocket of creative play & exploration into our everyday lives. Over the course of each 4-part series, we'll deepen our connection to the vibrant green world around us, tap into the richness of our mysterious inner worlds and maybe even begin to forge new paths and habits for the fall months.
This fall, Sunday Studio will be exploring Landscape (September 22 - October 13) and Florals (October 20 to November 10). We'll take inspiration from colors and shapes in the world around us, add buds & blooms as the weather cools and gather around our filled-to-the-brim workshop tables to make, chat and share as a group.
Each session starts with an exercise or two to get your inspiration flowing and includes plenty of quiet time to help you sink just a bit deeper into your own creative practice. During the course of each 4 week series, we'll explore shape, color & composition to stretch and grow creative muscles.
We will be using elements from each session to inspire the next (and each other!), but no worries if you need to leave a little early or miss a session - everyone's creative practice looks a little different and stepping away can be just as valuable as stepping in.
