About the event

Outside IN is a 4 week virtual camp for 8-12 year olds that will provide supplies and guidance for kids to practice nature observation, art-making, reading, and summer daydreaming. Each week we'll keep a nature journal and tie what is happening in the natural world to literature and poetry, the art of sensory observation, and creative play with various artistic media.

We'll start each week with a prompt connected to the natural world: finding space and patterns in nature, sun and rain, moss, rocks, seedpods and plants. We'll explore a range of disciplines from drawing and painting to ink-making, vegetable-prints, map-making and sculpting, all while welcoming natural and unexpected materials and approaches.

Campers choose one or more works of fiction from a reading list put together with Split Rock Books that embraces this ethos of creative exploration. We'll have online group check-ins twice a week to share as a community and stay rooted and connected during this uncertain summer.

Session Duration: July 20th through August 14th (4 weeks total)

Check-in sessions for Outside IN will be Wednesdays and Fridays at 10AM.

Cost:  $250 for the Outside IN Camp Session (1-3 participants) through July 8th ($350 after July 8)

Session fee includes an Explorer's Box with materials, a selection of books curated by our friends at Split Rock Books, and access to all activities and check-in sessions.

$50 for an additional Explorer's Box with materials that can not be shared.  For younger siblings (Ages 5-8), we are offering a Junior Explorer's Box add-on with books and materials appropriate for younger explorers.

We know these last few months have been especially rough for everyone.  Creativity Camp sessions are available at reduced cost to accommodate any financial twists and turns that have come your way - please email us at info@suppliesforcreativeliving.com for additional information.
