About the Event
In this two- day class, you will learn everything you need to complete your own full sized Sweeper and Cobwebber Broom, as well two types of whisk brooms. We will cover materials needed, how to sort and prep them for use, construction, and finishing techniques. (A Sweeper is a long-handled broom used for sweeping floors. A Cobwebber, is a long, slender, lightweight broom used for clearing cobwebs from ceilings, corners, or other hard to reach areas.)
SESSION: March 11 & 18th, 10AM to 5PM (2 sessions)
FEE: $350 / participant
All materials will be provided, but if you have something you’d like to use as a handle for either larger broom styles, please feel free to bring it to class.
Breaks are encouraged anytime after the first hour of the session; participants are also welcome to leave before the end of the session if they complete their projects before the end of each session day.
No prior experience is needed but moderate upper body strength, hand strength, and manual dexterity are required. Your hands may be in and out of water throughout this workshop. Please wear clothing you don't mind getting dirty and feel free to bring an apron or towel if you like.
Paskalini is a Broomsquire based in the Lower Hudson Valley, NY. Passionate about the art of broom making she joyously shares her love of brooms through her unique offerings and in her workshops.
