About the Event
We're so excited to offer this after-school series with local artist Summer J. Hart!
Over three sessions, students will learn the basics of pamphlet, stab, and accordion-style book binding with a focus on using found and upcycled materials. With a few core binding skills, you can make a book out of almost anything.
Session 1: Anywhere Books
We will explore different ways to make instant zines out of single sheets of paper and hand-sewn chapbooks using everyday materials.
Session 2: Anything Books
Got a spare shoelace? Your turn to take out the recycling? Let’s make a book! Learn to make books with upcycled box covers.
Session 3: Pocket / Books
Learn to make accordion-style books, with and without (secret) pockets.
Thursdays 3:30 to 5PM (3 sessions)
April 21, April 28 & May 5
$75 / participant
(This workshop series is for kids ages 8 and up.)
All materials are provided.
