Supplies for Creative Living is a brick + mortar shop and community studio in the beautiful Hudson Valley of New York with an evolving philosophy about what it means to be a creative human in a chaotic world.

Heading our way?

Our shop is located in the charming village of Cold Spring - easily accessible by the Metro North train about an hour north of New York City.

We've been told that our shop is:

Let's make a mess (in our sketchbooks) this summer! Scrawl, paste, make something new, weird and joyfully imperfect as you tick off the boxes on our 2026 Summer Sketchbook Challenge. Open to creatives of all ages, we'll be sketching along with you all summer long from July 1st through August 31st.

Stop by our shop to pick up a challenge tracker or message us with the word SKETCHBOOK and we'll send you a version to print out yourself. Happy sketching!

Good morning to you and happy 7th(!!) shop birthday to us!

We thought about making a video or maybe some sort of graphic but really what we wanted to say was a simple thank you. Thank you for coming in, for visiting us over and over again, for understanding that this is more than just a physical space but maybe some version of an antechamber into your own interior worlds.

Thanks for your notes that tell us of all the places you've been since you've been with us, thanks for stopping by and letting us know that we opened creative doors by placing just the right pencil, watercolors, pens into your hands. It is 100000% why we are here and what keeps us going through the logistics and number crunching of what it means to be a small retail business in the world today. Thanks for feeding us the way we feed you.

We'll be hanging out all afternoon at our workshop tables for Community Open Studio to gather and quietly celebrate the way we do best. Come on through, play a while and say hi!

New things, fun things, beautiful things all around our little shop in what is one of the best times of the year to visit our corner of the Hudson Valley.

We’re open 11-6pm every single day, come say hey!

We have so many reasons to celebrate being in the everyday right here, right now, with all of you. 🌼 🌺

The weather’s warming up, both a little and lot depending on the day, which means our shop doors are now open 7 days a week from 11 to 6PM. (Remember those single digit days this winter? Us neither.)

Come join us Monday through Thursdays for Community Open Studio during our open shop hours, no pre-registration needed. We’ll be making even cozier in the next few weeks to sit and hang at our workshop tables. The rules are simple: bring what you want to work on, keep it analog and clean up after yourself. Empty-handed? We’ve got plenty of materials to share and test out, just ask.

Sprinkles and pops of spring color and some fun new things all around our very sweet shop. 🌷 ✨

We’re open Thursday through Sunday from 11-5pm through the slow spring warmup and then back to 7 days a week. Come see us. 😊

If you’re participating in the general strike, come on by and send off some postcards to your local representatives, your favorite Minnesotan, and your best friend on us. We'll have plenty of postcards (made from repurposed watercolor paper, of course), stamps and some resources to share, as well as plenty of markers and pens if you're making protest signs.

Come on through from 11-5PM.

(Psst! The first three months of the year are the worst for small businesses operating in already challenging times. If your favorite local business is closing for the strike, make sure you give them some extra love this weekend, k? )
